CWU to scrimmage at Lions Field

MOSES LAKE - Kickoff for the 2015 high school football season is still a little under five months away.
However, Moses Lake will get a chance to see Central Washington University's football team play under the lights this weekend.
The Wildcats are holding an open scrimmage Saturday, 6 p.m., April 25, at Lions Field.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the gates to help benefit New Hope Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services.
Central head coach Ian Shoemaker said Lions Field will allow his team an opportunity to play at night and on turf, two things that are unavailable at Tomlinson Stadium in Ellensburg.
"We wanted to give the opportunity to expand our fan base a little bit, and we feel Moses Lake is a local area for us and it gives us a great opportunity to serve another community," Shoemaker said in a statement. "It also gives us a chance to play under the lights and on field turf, two things we do not get the chance to do in Ellensburg, and two things we need to be familiar with as we travel to other stadiums during the season."
Prior to the scrimmage, the football team will host a public meet and greet at Home Center, which begins at 3 p.m.
The scrimmage is expected to last around two hours.
