Laser invasion requires head protection

Some “laser beams” were reportedly causing trouble for a Beach Road resident, who told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that they were coming from a neighbor. The caller said he sleeps under two “steel plates” and two army helmets so that the lasers don’t hit him in the head.
Extra patrols were requested after a string of thefts from a U.S. 2 construction site near Kalispell.
A wayward dog jumped into a vehicle on 10th Street West near Kalispell.
After receiving a report of car vandalism on U.S. 2 near Kalispell, a deputy reported that the car did not show any visual evidence of wrongdoing.
A passerby found a fire pit that was still warm at the rock walls near Kila. They said that a bunch of paper trash was left behind, but one documents had a name and address on it. Deputies used it to track down a suspect.
One Bald Rock Road caller told dispatch that a man had a follow-up question after calling and issuing threats. He reportedly asked if she wanted to buy some meth.
No parent was waiting when a student exited a school bus at a U.S. 2 stop near Kalispell. A watchful bus driver called deputies to help locate the mother, who had reportedly fallen asleep on the couch.
Someone reported a meth-producing operation out in the woods. No specific location was given in the report.
Two horses and one donkey had gotten loose out near Stonecrest Drive.
Threats flew back and forth in what started as an apparent verbal argument on Hungry Horse Boulevard. The parties were initially separated, but one called back and claimed that she had been hit in the face with bear spray.
The Whitefish Police Department was unable to locate a pair of transients who had been reported to be standing outside of an Idaho Avenue home. A resident said that they allegedly talked about breaking into a house.
An officer with the Columbia Falls Police Department tried to de-escalate a verbal argument between two women on Eighth Avenue East North. Two different people reported a screaming match between them.
A concerned driver told police that children sitting in a side-by-side off-road vehicle might not be safe. According to the report, there were two small children in the front using the same seatbelt and another in the back. They were waiting in line for a Ninth Street West car wash, so hopefully they brought ponchos as well as parental approval.
An employee at a local rental company called the Kalispell Police Department to report that a rented item had ended up at a pawn shop in Idaho. Police called back to follow up.
Police arrested a man who was reportedly inhaling from an aerosol can and passing out in the parking lot of a U.S. 93 fast food restaurant.
Nobody was injured in a vehicle accident on West Washington Street. One driver didn’t know what to do, because it was his or her first accident. Welcome to the club!
