Raymond Russell, 72, of Watertown, South Dakota, died, April 19, 2015, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Memorial services are 11:30 a.m. April 24 at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Pastor Scott Dempster officiating. Visitation is to 6 p.m., today at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel.
Raymond LeRoy Russell was born Sept. 7, 1942, to Howard and Lorraine Magdelene (Buell) Russell in Great Falls. He grew up in Havre, and after high school he served in the United States Navy.
He married Janet Norden June 15, 1968, in Kalispell. After having their two children in Montana, and managing credit bureaus in Montana and Wyoming, Ray purchased the Credit Bureau of Watertown, South Dakota in 1978. He owned the credit bureau until 2006, when he retired.
He was a member of the Elks, former member of Rotary and Cosmopolitan Clubs, and also enjoyed his Wheel Inn coffee group.
Ray loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed HAM radio, hunting, golfing, fishing, bowling, photography, reading and watching old Westerns.
Survivors are his wife, Janet, of Watertown; children, Jennifer Dahl of Hawley, Minnesota, and Jason Russell of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren, Olivia, Andrew and Aidan Dahl and Emma Russell; brother, Richard, and Linda Russell of Columbia Falls; and sister-in-law, Judy, and Sotero Muniz, of Polson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Robert Russell.
