The Kalispell Police Department was alerted to a spill of an “oily sand-type substance” being tracked all over Treeline Road and U.S. 93 North. The caller affectionately dubbed the mess “greased lightning.”

After allegedly trying to break into a North Main Street home, a woman was throwing “baggies and rocks” into the window, according to a report. Officers caught up with the woman and arrested her.

One truck moved into a turn lane on Heritage Way, but another truck was already there. The resulting crash caused minor damage and no injuries.

Police arrested one woman after she got into a shoving match with a man on East Idaho Street.

While in Kalispell on business, a man locked himself out of his work truck. Police helped him unlock the vehicle so he could return to Bozeman.

An Eighth Avenue West resident wanted to borrow a live trap to capture a squirrel that had taken up shop in her basement.

Police received a call of a suspicious man who was “walking back and forth” with his hood up near a Sixth Avenue West home. Officers found that the man lived there and was in the process of moving out, perhaps to somewhere more private.


Trains were reportedly blocking school bus travel over U.S. 2, according to the Columbia Falls Police Department.


The Polson Police Department arrested someone for possession of drug paraphernalia on the north side of Polson Bridge.


The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle crash at Whitefish Stage Road and West Reserve Drive. At least one person, a 50-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with possible neck injuries. His car was reportedly stopped and rear-ended by another vehicle going 50 mph.


The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was unable to reach the registered owner of a car that was stuck on railroad tracks on U.S. 2 near Kalispell. A tow truck was called and no trains came through the area in the meantime.

A woman recognized somebody that was wanted on a felony warrant and alerted the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the location near Whitefish and apprehended the woman.

A prudent business owner called with legal questions about company posts on Facebook and Craigslist. A deputy advised the owner that this did not violate state laws.

There was some “hot-rodding” going on at Electric Avenue in Bigfork, according to one report. The caller said that a big truck repeatedly revs the engine and spins tires on the street.

Fishing trips won’t go quite as planned after some tackle boxes, poles and other gear was reportedly stolen out of a Montclair Drive storage unit.

A woman was reported missing and possibly hanging around a pimp named Knowledge.

Deputies arrested one woman for drunken driving after she was reported swerving, hopping curbs and taking out a mailbox. She eventually came to a stop at First Avenue East in Kalispell.
