Romantic jazz concert coming to Kroc

For years Tuck and Patti, a genre-crossing vocal and guitar jazz duo, have cast a passionate musical spell worldwide, capturing the hearts of lovers, the respect of jazz buffs and the jaw-dropping awe of guitarists and singers.

They will perform an intimate, acoustic concert May 30 at 8 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d'Alene.

Married since 1983, Tuck Andress and Patti Cathcart continue to stoke the fires, not only of their own love, but also of their love of life and their passion for making music together. They have a long-standing tradition: Minimalist arrangements featuring Tuck's virtuosity and Patti's rich mezzo soprano.

Seeing the complexity of Tuck's guitar work, most are surprised to learn that Patti is the actual writer, arranger and producer. Tuck will often say: "Patti writes and arranges; I am just the orchestra."

When they're not touring, Tuck and Patti live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where they record and teach students, in person and via Skype.
