ROYAL CITY - In a meet held at Royal last week, the Royal High track teams launched the SCAC season with twin double wins.

Royal's boys defeated River View, 93-52, and Burbank, 98-46. The Royal girls were even more dominating, stopping River View, 96-37, and Burbank, 100-30.

Two school records were set by Royal athletes. Joe Lang toured the 110 hurdles in 15.34 seconds.

The record was held by Eric Lawrence since 1997.

Maggie Delay set the other new record. That was a clocking of 15.69 in the 100-meter hurdles. The old record was set by Kara Dodd in 1991.
