Charges stand in lewd conduct case

SANDPOINT — A 1st District judge is denying a motion to dismiss lewd conduct charges pending against a Post Falls man, court records show.

Counsel for Ernest Ray Johnson III argued last year’s grand jury proceedings were so replete fundamental errors that the indictment should be dismissed.

Johnson’s defense attorneys contend some of the jurors remarked that they knew Johnson and made negative remarks about him, which revealed they were biased.
