Margene was called to join our Father in Heaven as she was napping the afternoon of April 19, 2015, at Ivy Court in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was born May 6, 1927, in Ogden, Utah, to Minnie June (McKellar) Montgomery and Roy Allen Montgomery. At the age of 15, she married Jack Lloyd Colvin, the father of her first six children: Quent Starr, Carl Ray, Bonnie June, Barbara Lee, Pattie Lorraine and Terrill Leland. She divorced Jack 17 years later. In 1962, she married John Wallace Dickinson, the father of her youngest child, Grace Hope. In 1988, John died unexpectedly and Margene remained a widow until her passing.

In her early life, Margene traveled with her family for work in several states, including Oklahoma, New Mexico, Idaho, Washington, California and Nevada. She resided for many years in Reno, Nev., finally relocating permanently to the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, area in 1983.

Marge had many happy memories of times spent living on a mining claim with her six young kids near Kelsey, Calif., and her unexpected, sometimes perturbing, adventures with John. She was ever delighted with each of her grandchildren and spoke of them often. She could not see a baby without her arms "just tingling to hold it." She was happy to have enjoyed remarkably good health all her days and was proud to have always been a very dependable, quality worker - "maybe not the fastest, but I did good work!"

Margene was preceded in death by both parents; siblings Ray, Mina, Bertha and Rex; husband John; daughters Barbara (Castleberry) Miller, Pattie (Scott) Banks, and granddaughter Corrina (Castleberry) Vossler.

Per her final wishes, Margene's ashes will be interred without memorial services at the grave of her husband, John, on May 2, 2015, at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. A family gathering is planned for the near future when all her children can travel to be present together for a celebration of her life and good memories.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Margene's online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
