A new aerial adventure park will soon open in Coram. Chris Fisher and his family have been working on the Glacier Highline course since last August. The aerial course takes adventurers 30 feet off the ground through the trees on a variety of cables and ropes.

A builder by trade, Fisher built the business “office” from hand-hewn locally grown timbers of old growth fir and larch. The course spreads out from the building through the treetops toward U.S. 2.

The course is designed for ages 7 and up, features 29 challenges and takes about two hours to complete. People wear harnesses with specially designed magnetic clips that won’t release unless one end is clipped in — making it impossible to fall.

Even so, it’s interesting to stand on a thin rope while looking at the chickadees fly below.

“We felt like God led us to build this,” Fisher said. “We did all the designing.”

He grew up on the property with his parents Bob and Karen Fisher and two brothers. Chris graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 2003 and learned the building trades from his father. Building the aerial course was a family affair with everyone pitching in.

Fisher has a wife, Keshia, and three children, Noeley, 4, Harper, 3, and Kingston, 1. The young girls have already been out on the course and have no fear of heights.

Fisher said he plans on adding 28 more challenges to the course in the future. The park will open June 1. Cost is $35 kids and $45 adults, with two hours to complete the course.
