Local American Ninja hopes to win $1M for Shriners Hospitals

COEUR d'ALENE - It takes an incredible amount of guts and muscle to come in first place on NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" and win $1 million.

But to take that hard-earned million and give it to Shriners Hospitals for Children requires the heart of a hero.

Coeur d'Alene athlete and prosthetics maker Chris Moore will be competing in the 2015 season of "American Ninja Warrior" and conducting a fundraiser for Shriners as he prepares for the big event.

"American Ninja Warrior" is an action-packed series that "follows competitors as they tackle a series of challenging obstacle courses in both city qualifying and city finals rounds across the country," as described by NBC. "Those who successfully complete the finals course in their designated region move on to the national finals round in Las Vegas, where they face a stunning four-stage course modeled after the famed Mt. Midoriyama course in Japan."

No competitor has yet claimed the $1 million. Season 7 premieres on NBC May 25.
