PREP ROUNDUP: Timberwolves take down Vikings in tennis dual

COEUR d'ALENE - The Lake City girls swept in singles and doubles, and the Timberwolves beat the Coeur d'Alene Vikings 9-3 in a tennis dual on Wednesday at both Coeur d'Alene and Lake City High.
Boys matches were played at Coeur d'Alene High, with girls matches played at Lake City.
Both schools will compete in the Inland Empire tournament this Friday and Saturday in Spokane.

SANDPOINT - Collin Burkhalter beat Reilly Wolfe in straight sets in boys singles for the Hawks in a dual against the Bulldogs at Travers Park.

COEUR d'ALENE - Wyatt Seaman singled to score Tanner Criswell in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Timberwolves beat the Bears in a nonleague game at Lake City High.
Jarred Hall had two hits and three RBIs and Sam Slusser drove in two runs for Lake City (14-9), which hosts Freeman on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Moscow, which scored one earned run, opens the 4A Region 1 tournament against Sandpoint at noon on Saturday at Lakeland High in Rathdrum.

COEUR d’ALENE — Hannah Nelson, Heather Hawkes and Brittany Gay drove in three runs each for the Timberwolves in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of the Bears at Lake City High.
In the opener, JaeCie Wilson scored four runs and drove in three for Lake City (15-6), which faces Lewiston at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the opening round of the 5A Region 1 tournament.
“Today was a great day to celebrate the careers of all of our seniors,” Lake City coach Jesse Lenz said. “I’m very proud of all five of them and happy to see their success in the future.”

POST FALLS - Kari Ghramm went 4 for 5 with three runs and a triple, to help lead the way as the Lumberjacks rout the Trojans' junior varsity team.
"There were parts of the game where we played solid and part of the game we weren't," St. Maries coach Todd Bitterman said. "So we'll look to do some things right for seven innings."
Devyn Wilson went 1 for 2 three RBIs as St. Maries (10-4) had 12 hits on the day. Paige Sines went 2 for 5 with three runs, while C.J. Scott finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
Lumberjacks pitcher Kelsey Auer picked up the win, allowing five earned runs on eight hits and five walks. She struck out nine.
St. Maries returns Friday to play a Central Idaho League game at home against Orofino. The District 1-2 tournament begins on Monday in Orofino.
Shelby Sebastian had two hits, including a triple, for the Post Falls JV.
