LEGION BASEBALL: Lewis-Clark, Capitals to play for title

COEUR d'ALENE - It's down to two.
The Lewis-Clark Twins (32-22) will play the Boise Capitals (35-12) in the championship game of the American Legion baseball AA state tournament today at Thorco Field. The game starts at 4 p.m. and if the Capitals win, the teams will play a second championship game at 7 since the Twins are undefeated in the double-elimination tournament (4-0) and the Capitals have one loss (3-1).
The Boise Capitals routed the Meridian Rangers (24-15) 14-4 in the first game Friday, eliminating the Rangers, and the Twins edged the Nampa Chiefs (25-11) 7-6 on a walkoff, eliminating the Chiefs.
Boise Capitals 14, Meridian Rangers 4, 8 inn.: Nolan Jekich went 2 for 3, including a two-run home run in the third inning to lead the Capitals.

Lewis-Clark Twins 7, Nampa Chiefs 6: With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Twins' Chandler Tibbits walked, which brought home Tyler Gay for the winning run. Gay went 3 for 5 and scored three runs.
