COEUR d'ALENE - A celebration of life service in memory of Reginald "Reggie" Nault will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m. at New Life Church, 6068 W. Hayden Ave.

Nault presumably drowned in Lake Coeur d'Alene on July 21 when he fell or jumped from a moving boat when he was with two other 16-year-olds.

Nault played baseball at Coeur d'Alene High as well as for a Spokane Dodgers club team this summer.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office as well as friends and family members have been searching for Nault since he disappeared into the lake.

"We have been continually searching with the sonar boat, dive team and ROV (underwater remote operated vehicle)," KCSO Lt. Stu Miller said on Friday. "We've asked Gene Ralston to assist with his sonar equipment."

Ralston and others were on the lake Friday and will be through the weekend, Miller said.

"If the body is not found this weekend, we have a plan to put our sonar boat back out next week," Miller said, adding that a suspension date for the search hasn't been established.

Some areas of the search are 130 feet deep.

Brandi Jones, Nault's mother, said boaters on the lake are encouraged to be mindful that the search continues in the Arrow Point area and steer clear of that area as the waves can hamper the search.

No movement in region to go that route to enhance school safety

While the idea of arming teachers, as a means to increase school safety, is catching on in some areas, there’s no such momentum in Kootenai County.
