SANDPOINT — A Bonner County sheriff’s deputy who was critically injured in a collision with a tractor-trailer earlier this year has pleaded guilty to an infraction, according to court documents.

Idaho State Police said Deputy Alexander Hughes was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 95 in Careywood when he executed a U-turn in his department-issued Chevrolet Tahoe. While doing so, a southbound semi crashed broadside into Hughes’ sport utility vehicle.
