The Kids’ Fishing Pond officially opened Saturday, with more than 130 people in attendance to catch fish, eat hot dogs and enjoy some fun time with friends, family and neighbors.

Members of the Rotary Club of the Kootenai Valley, who donated their time and money to help pave an asphalt trail around the new pond, were on hand to cook hot dogs for the youngsters. They served more than 80 hot dogs to area kids out enjoying a day at the pond.
