School registration begins Aug. 17

The calendar has flipped to August, which means two things for students. Summer is coming to an end and a new school year is about to begin.
The first day of school for Troy Public Schools will be Wednesday, September 2.
New residents, grades 7-12, should contact Mrs. Winslow starting Monday, August 17 at the high school for registration and class scheduling.
New residents, grades K-6, should contact Mrs. Boswell starting Monday, August 24 at the elementary school, for registration and teacher assignments. To register a child for the after school program one can call Mrs. Boswell at the elementary school for more information.
An open house will take place Tuesday, September 1, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The open house is open to parents, students and community members. The open house is a time for parents and students to stop in and visit with the teachers. W.F. Morrison Elementary School will be unveiling the building’s new look of the hallways and the playground upgrades.
The first day of school for the Libby School District will be Tuesday, September 1. The registration dates are, Wednesday, August 19, 9 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. A second registration day will be 9 a.m. until noon. Thursday, August 20.
The Libby Public Schools are looking for substitute teachers for the 2015 school year. If one is interested in being a substitute teacher for Libby Public Schools stop by the Superintendent’s office at 724 Louisiana Avenue. Office hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
First time substitutes will need to complete an application packet and submit to a background check. Returning substitutes must update their employment file.
Libby Public Schools will be hosting a substitute workshop Friday, August 14 in the Central Administration Building from 9 a.m. until noon. All individuals interested in becoming a substitute for teachers, paraprofessionals and secretaries are encouraged to attend.
