Creston fire departments as well as the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and the Flathead County Office of Emergency Services on Thursday morning, August 6, east of Kalispell. Fire Manager Lincoln Chute said part of the reason for calling in so many responders was the proximity of the vehicle to both the home and a shed. But there was also a great degree of concern on account of the dry conditions. "Residents need to be especially careful," warned Chute. "We were lucky in that a vehicle generates less embers than a structure fire." The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
