Sandy is proof that people CAN die of a broken heart. Her husband and soul mate of 50 years, John, passed away six months ago. They were always holding hands, she missed his touch the most.

We have lost an incredible woman. We miss her so much. She was a woman of great strength and dedication. She devoted her entire life to receive a promise that God made her many years ago. She finished her life on Earth victoriously. She never caved, she held strong to see her miracle come true. She had the husband she had always prayed for and our dad had a wife who was more than perfect. We know she is in the arms of both God and our dad.

She searched hard for the last six months to find her own identity. She didn't realize she was still the same loving, strong, faithful, loyal woman, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend that she always has been. We got to know her as a woman not just our mom. She was so selfless and giving. She ventured to do things she was afraid of doing and had fun but there was a huge piece of her missing. We are going to miss answering our phones to her 6 a.m. birthday wakeup call singing happy birthday, her smile, her laugh and her hugs.

She leaves behind so many broken hearts. Her daughters, Debbie Haug, Sherrie Harwood and Sandy Hayman; sons-in-law Scot Haug, Travis Harwood and Dean Hayman; grandchildren Tyler, Brittany and Cameron Haug, Kayla and Brandon Thomson, Kennedy and Payton Harwood, Gage and Chase Benefield; great grandchildren Leighton Thomson, Kaidance McQwier, Lillyanna Haug and soon to be Emmily Thomson; best friends Kathy and Lonnie Whitaker; sister Susie Moye; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Although her life was short, she touched so many hearts. Everyone says that, but with her it was so true. She NEVER questioned God or her faith. She was an example of love, strength and perseverance. She taught us that it was OK to be weak and hurting and the only answer was to turn to God and family.

Our hearts are broken but we will live by her example and trust that God will take care of her and us.

Life is truly short. Make amends with your loved ones and never let them forget how much they are loved.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls.
