Two automatic sprinkler alarms that sounded about five minutes apart sent Polson Fire Department personnel to Red Lion Inn & Suites and Walmart at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

City of Polson Public Works Director Tony Porrazzo said he also received a notification of the alarms.

Workers at Red Lion were testing a water pressure valve that set off the alarms, he said.

Customers and employees at Walmart were forced to evacuate the store and shut down until it was officially cleared by fire fighters.
