State juniors: Brayden Ogle of Hayden tied for third in the boys age 14-15 division at the recent Idaho Golf Association Junior state championship at the Rupert Country Club.

Ogle shot 79-73-152, five strokes behind the winner, Jack Reeves of Sandpoint (73-74-147). Tanner Byers of Post Falls (77-79-156) tied for 10th.

Preston Roth of Rathdrum (77-74-151) tied for 11th, nine strokes back, in the boys 16-18 age group.

Coeur d'Alene Sting under-12 girls gold: The Sting placed fourth in the U13 bronze division at the Mt. Hood Challenge in Portland on Aug. 14-16.

The Sting opened with a 4-1 win over the WIllamette Timbers G02 Mundial, led by three goals by Amber Aittama and one by Holly Hudson.

The Sting then defeated the Puyallup Wildcats 2-0. Amber Aittama and Isabella Lucky each had a goal, and Danika Nowak had the shutout in goal, as the Sting won its bracket to move into the Blue Championship playoff round.

The Sting then lost 2-0 to the RV Timbers 02 team, then fell to the WPFC G03 White 2-0 in extended play.

Sting U14 boys Valencia: The Sting took second overall in its division at the Mt. Hood Challenge in Oregon this past weekend.

The Sting Valencia defeated the Azul FC Gladiators 3-0 on Friday night. Jacob Janzen scored two goals, McKie Gregory one, and Tyler Shaw and Sam Anderson each had assists.

On Saturday, the Sting Valencia defeated SESC Celtic 5-2. Sam Anderson scored two goals for the Sting, and Jacob Janzen, Josh Brisendine, and Tyler Shaw scored one each. Cameron Dance, Jacob Baker and McKie Gregory each had assists.

The Sting Valencia defeated CYS America FC 5-3, on goals by Cameron Dance, Tyler Shaw, Garrett Noordam, Drake Prohaska and Sam Anderson with assists by Cameron Dance and Carter Gordon.

On Sunday in the championship game, the Sting Valencia lost 3-1 to 4-H Real Madrid B01. Valencia's goal was scored by Cameron Dance with the assist by Kyler Sorenson.

Sting U12 boys black: The Sting, coached by Chad Beadell, made it to the semifinals of the Northwest Cup last weekend in Spokane.

The Sting opened with a 2-2 tie vs. the 3 Rivers Soccer Club of Washington. Chris Makovec and Sean Dremann scored once each for the Sting.

The Sting then beat FC Spokane 3-2, as Zak Wenglikowski scored two goals, Talon Mitchell one.

The Sting fell 2-1 to Valor of Washington. Cooper Larson scored for the Sting.

The Sting lost 4-1 to the Flathead Force. Joseph Sarkis scored for the Sting.

Sting goalkeepers for the tourney were Kimball Waddell and Chris Makovec.
