Shock's Afif named to
All-Arena second-team offense
Offensive lineman Patrick Afif was the lone Spokane Shock named to the All-Arena Football League team on offense.
Afif was named to the second team.
Former Shock quarterback Erik Meyer, now with San Jose, was named to the second team.

Great Northwest Fall Tour
bike ride set for Sept. 6
NEWPORT - The annual Great Northwest Fall Bike Tour is set for Sept. 6. It is a bike ride for everyone and is open to cyclists of all ages and levels.
Cyclists have a choice of 15-, 30-, 50- or 85-mile routes. Families are welcome and encouraged.
Check-in is at Newport City Park beginning at 7 a.m. The 85-mile ride will begin at 8 a.m. and all others at 9 a.m. The ride includes food/water stops along the routes and a meal at the finish, which will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The ride will benefit the Newport/Priest River Rotary Club.
Registration is $35 with no T-shirt, $50 with T-shirt (add $2 for XXL and larger). After Aug. 30 add $10 late registration fee.
The family rate is $75 (family up to four - includes one deluxe long-sleeve shirt).
