Phyllis Snook Hart, 79
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 4 months AGO
Phyllis Hart passed away peacefully Aug. 16, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Phyllis was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Spirit Lake, Idaho, where she spent her early years. Her family then moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, where she grew up and graduated from Rathdrum High in 1953. She later met and married Jim Hart in 1965 and moved to Post Falls, Idaho, for the remainder of her life.
Phyllis loved gardening, crocheting, her pets and especially her grandchildren. Phyllis had a variety of jobs throughout her life - bank teller, school bus driver, gas truck driver for Conoco Oil, mail carrier for the post office and helped with The Falls Club - a restaurant/lounge in Post Falls they co-owned for many years.
Her biggest love was her family - there isn't anything she wouldn't do for her family and showed her love for them daily. Phyllis is a kind, caring person who would help anyone in need. She did have a stubborn streak now and then, but not a mean bone in her body.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jim Hart. She is survived by her loving children, Laura Schultz Spencer of Kuna, Idaho, Rocky Schultz of Washougal, Wash., Janis Schultz Cooper of Greenacres, Wash., David Hart of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and her brothers, David Snook of Winlock, Wash., and Richard (Dick) Snook of Rathdrum. She is also survived by her loving stepchildren, Tana Hart Quickel of Anchorage, Alaska, Tena Hart of Anchorage and Jeff Hart of Juneau, Alaska. She has 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
You have had a great life including struggles you have worked hard to overcome. It is our struggles in life that make us stronger. You are a kind, loving and strong person whom we will miss, but we will remember the great times we had together. We love you. Rest, now in peace.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. Private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.
