Kootenai National Forest – Evacuation orders have been put in place for the Bull River along Highway 56 from mile post 14 to mile post 8 south to the junction with 200. There is a Red Cross shelter at the Noxon High School.

A lightning storm sparked the fire August 19. The current size is reported to be 2,160 acres. Geronimo and Cherokee Hot Shot crews are fighting the fire along with Forest Service Crew member and numerous other fire crews from around the country.
