Just after 8 a.m. today, a 6-foot 2-inch man wearing a black t-shirt, sunglasses and a baseball cap took local police officers on a chase down Polson's walking path, according to scanner traffic.

The man, who is believed to have an active warrant with Tribal Law for about $1,400, disappeared between the time he fled and the time it took get back-up officers to the scene.

The incident took place on the path behind Super 1 Foods and emergency personnel began searching local churches and businesses. Safety officers also cleared the walking path of other people who might be unexpectedly surprised by the man.

The man is believed to have escaped the scene.

If anyone has information about the incident, they are urged to call law enforcement.
