A new building of more than 30,000 square feet to anchor its 9-acre parcel with another 72,000- square-foot structure will give StanCraft Boat Co. combined with Juliette Corp. and StanCraft Marine Centers a new corporate headquarters at 2936 W. Dakota Ave. in Hayden.

The third-generation company, which started on Flathead Lake, Mont., in 1933, will leave its present location at 4739 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls, in mid-December. It will retain its MasterCraft dealership at 1705 Northwest Blvd. and its storage and service facility at 50383 N. Old Highway 95.

StanCraft builds custom mahogany boats from 14.5 feet to 46 feet and ships them worldwide. With its other dealerships in Portland and Phoenix, the company also deals fiberglass manufactured boats of Formula and Chris Craft and pontoon lines Premier and Manitou and provides full-service dock repair, boat lifts, mechanical services and storage.

Cd'A Domino's expanding

A major expansion in the kitchen and adding a dining room are in the works at Domino's Pizza in the plaza in the southeast corner of Neider Avenue and Government Way.

The changes include a triple stack of three ovens and adding a make-line refrigerated table and a salad and beverage merchandiser. The decor will change with tiles, a manager's chalk board to write specials and a 60-inch TV in the dining area.

"We'll be adding a secret menu item and three salads," said Jim Hightower, owner with his wife Melissa since 1998. They also have Domino's in Post Falls, Hayden and Rathdrum. He owns two stores with his son Rhett in Great Falls, Mont., and Rhett owns four more in Billings, Mont.

"We plan to build several more stores in Montana, and we likely will build two more stores in North Idaho by the end of the decade," Jim said.

The Domino's chain began in 1960 and has about 11,000 stores in 70 countries, delivering a million pizzas a day worldwide. The Hightowers have 105 employees among their four stores in North Idaho. Hookah lounge open on Fourth

The use of hookah smoke machines of various qualities and choices of tobacco are offered at Paradise Hookah Lounge now open at 2506 N. Fourth St. (south of Napa Auto Parts).

The place has comfortable seating for 98 people and 25 machines offering six brands and 30 flavors, mostly from Egypt. Owner Roni Boulos, originally from Iraq, also offers non-alcohol beverages, including Turkish coffee, and snacks and sells hookahs and tobacco. Customers can play air hockey and pool.

The business opens at 6 p.m. and closes at 1:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, midnight on Sundays and 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
