A Finely Point family woke up to the smell of smoke at about 4 a.m. Saturday and realized their home was on fire, Finley Point Fire Department Chief Rob Morigeau said.
When extinguished, their home was deemed a 100-percent loss, he said.
Crews from the Finley Point Fire Department responded to the scene and received assistance from Polson Fire Department.
“It was fully engulfed by the time we arrived,” Morigeau said.
Though the home was burned to the ground, Morigeau said firefighters were able to keep the active scene contained and no fire spread to any nearby areas.
Officials believe the fire was not caused by foul play, but are unsure what did ignite the residential blaze.
