SANDPOINT — Construction projects are continuing through the frigid temperatures around Sandpoint, with some work being put off until the spring thaw.

Bruce Robertson, right of way enforcement officer, said work is continuing on Church Street and for the fiber conduit backbone, weather permitting.

Church Street construction was slated for 90 days of work, and Robertson said the crews are not past that yet. Weather permitting, construction will continue and the contract with Earthworks Northwest states the landscaping along Church Street was always projected with a spring completion date.

"The contractor could not even find the plants he needs this fall," Robertson said.
