HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat kicked off the basketball season over the weekend at the Class C kick-off tournament in Frenchtown.

The girls were not able to pull ahead in their game against Lincoln, coming just shy of a win with a final score of 16-18 to the Lady Lynx. The Lincoln girls were able to push through the Hot Springs defense in the first and third quarters, giving them a strong boost; while they fought hard in the second and third quarters, keeping Lincoln from scoring going into the half, the Lady Savage Heat were not able to pull ahead.

Kaelin Lien led the Hot Springs team with eight baskets; Karly Lawson was just behind her with six.
