THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks started their basketball season on a slow note with a 22-43 loss to the Hamilton Lady Broncs.

The teams started off fairly even, only separated by one point at the end of the first quarter. Suddenly, though, Hamilton’s girls took off, breaking past Thompson Falls’ defense to pull in 15 points.

This lead was repeated as the second half opened, the Lady Broncs gaining another 14 points. The Lady Hawks were able to pull back their defense for the fourth quarter and the girls kept the opposition to only eight points.

The Lady Hawks were led by senior Shey Hannum, gaining nine points. Lindsey Laws brought up second place with five points scored.
