A shooting at a home in Pablo at about 1 p.m. Monday wounded a woman and forced the lockdown of Pablo Elementary School.

The victim was initially treated at St. Luke Community Hospital in Ronan and then airlifted to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Law officers are searching for three people in connection with the shooting, although Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said one appears to be only a witness.

Witnesses said they believed a blue-gray sedan with a missing passenger’s side window and missing front grille fled from the scene.

The vehicle later was found at another home in Pablo.

Officers from the Montana Highway Patrol, Tribal Law and Order, Polson Police Department and Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting scene.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 406-883-7201.
