An uncooperative woman injured two Lake County sheriff’s deputies after she attempted to ram their vehicles in Finley Point at about 5 a.m. Friday.

Authorities believe the woman tried to ram the deputies’ vehicles while trying to escape a confrontation after they responded to a call of a strange vehicle in the area with a woman outside the vehicle screaming and causing a disturbance, Sheriff Don Bell said in a press release.

“The suspect vehicle was pinned by a Lake County Sheriff’s Office vehicle into a retaining wall and the driver was taken into custody,” Bell said. “The suspect female bit one deputy and another was injured while gaining access to her vehicle.”

The ramming incident occurred when the deputies tried to stop the woman’s vehicle.

The suspect was not injured as a result of the arrest, but she may have been under the influence of methamphetamine or possibly “bath salts,” and she has been hospitalized.
