HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs community gathered at the Symes, last week, to celebrate the holidays and get a start on holiday shopping lists.

According to Cindy Emmert, of the Symes Hotel, there was a good turn out for the event with lots of vendors and shoppers. People brought a variety of things to sell, though many of the items were hand made crafts.

Where many bazaars have a cost to rent the tables, this one was different. Vendors only had to contribute two dozen cookies to get a table at the event; Emmert described it as a cookie bazaar.

“Really, nobody sold cookies,” she said.

The cookies were set up along one wall of the hotel’s event space along with punch and cocoa for the shopper’s enjoyment.
