Driver complains about beer truck

A frustrated driver called the Whitefish Police Department to complain that a beer delivery truck was blocking alley access off Baker Avenue. The truck was gone by the time officers arrived.

The owner of a Central Avenue business called the police to report some keys found in front of the establishment that morning. Officers picked up the set of keys.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Park Avenue. A vehicle had gone into the ditch and flipped onto its top. No one was injured. A tow truck was called to the scene to assist officers in removing the vehicle.

A caller at a Wisconsin Avenue property called to report two “vicious, barking” dogs. The caller was worried that the large canines would hurt someone. Police tracked down the dogs’ owners and issued a citation.

A driver called to report two men having car troubles on East Second Street. The caller said the men were “acting funny” when he stopped to offer help. Officers were unable to locate the men or a disabled vehicle.

A guest at a Spokane Avenue business called to report someone trying to get into their room. The caller couldn’t see who was trying to come in, but said the door handle was being messed with. Officers responded and found a man trying to enter the wrong room. He was escorted without incident to his actual room.


An Eighth Avenue East North resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report her purse had been stolen from her home sometime the night before.

A caller reported a woman standing at an intersection on Ninth Street West holding a sign and panhandling. Officers issued a warning and advised the woman to move along.

A concerned Diane Road resident called to report a suspicious man walking up and down the street and loitering around the caller’s vehicle. Officers found the walker was just pacing while talking on the phone.

A driver on Nucleus Avenue called to report that a vehicle pulling out of a bar’s parking lot almost ran him off the road and was swerving.

Officers responded to an accident on North Hilltop Road involving a vehicle striking a child. Officers found that the child was not injured, and that the vehicle had been going very slowly when the child ran across the street in front of it and was hit. No medical attention was necessary.


The Whitefish Fire Department responded to reports of a flood at a Shiloh Avenue residence.
