The Kalispell City Council tonight will consider a request by Cascade Professional Park on behalf of Chris Sund to build a 12-unit apartment complex on two lots at 91 and 95 Financial Drive northwest of the former Gateway West Mall.

The development would consist of three four-plex buildings with a communal recreational area with playground equipment. Each unit is slated to have a single-car garage with one additional uncovered parking space per unit.

The sites are already zoned for multifamily housing.

The request was forwarded from the planning board with a positive recommendation.

The council tonight will also consider a public hearing to discuss adopting the latest building, fire and electric codes, as well as amending associated fee schedules.

The state has officially adopted the latest building, fire and electric codes. To maintain its certification with the State Building Codes Bureau, Kalispell must adopt the same codes within 90 days of the state’s December approval.

If the resolution passes, the public hearing would be held Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. during the regular City Council meeting.

Tonight’s council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Kalispell City Hall. The full meeting agenda can been viewed online at www.kalispell.com.
