Lady Hawks beat Troy

TROY – The Lady Hawks improved their season record to .500 with a win over Troy last weekend.
The Thompson Falls girls traveled to Lincoln County and beat Troy 49-35 to get to 7-7 on the year.
The District 7-B matchup was close at the beginning but the Lady Hawks began to wear down the Troy defense as the game progressed.
It was the Trojans who lead the game after one quarter, holding a narrow one point lead with the score at 8-7 in favor of the host team.
The Lady Hawks offense sparked to life in the second quarter and the Thompson Falls girls ended the first half on a 15-5 run.
At halftime the Lady Hawks led 22-13.
Thompson Falls built on their lead in the third quarter taking a 35-22 advantage into the game’s final frame.
The Troy girls had their strongest quarter of offense in the fourth but were still outscored 14-13 in the quarter by the Lady Hawks as the contest reached its conclusion.
Junior forward Shey Hannum and senior Logan Beckman led the Thompson Falls girls during the road win.
Both Hannum and Beckman ended the game with 14 points.
Up next for the Lady Hawks will be a county game against the Plains Trotters.
The game is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Feb. 5 at Plains High School.
