NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police are searching for a man who slashed a subway rider, a homeless man and another person in the face with a box cutter.
Police say the slashing rampage began at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday on a subway train in Manhattan. They say the perpetrator got into an argument with another passenger and slashed him in the face.
Police say the suspect slapped a woman in the face as he fled the Union Square subway station. Once on the street, they say, the man slashed a homeless man in the face.
They say the slasher accosted a third man nearby and demanded money. When the man refused, the suspect cut his face as well.
The three slashing victims were hospitalized in stable condition.
