The annual Montana Economic Outlook Seminar will reach Kalispell on Feb. 13 to discuss the economic future for Northwest Montana and the state.

The seminar, put on by the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research, will highlight the latest economic trends for local, state and national economies.

This year’s seminar will focus on the “New American Energy Revolution” and will discuss the way the country and state choose to produce, market and think about all forms of energy.

The seminar will have been presented previously in Helena, Great Falls, Billings, Bozeman and Butte and will continue to Sidney and Miles City after Kalispell.

The seminar will start with an introduction and overview of the economic outlook. Throughout the day, speakers will cover topics such as health care, nonresident travel, agriculture, forest products, real estate and energy.

Bill Whitsitt, former executive vice president of Devon Energy Corporation, is the keynote speaker. He will talk during the lunch hour about rapid changes in energy development he has seen during his career. Whitsitt will highlight how today’s technology-driven energy revolution will impact national and local markets and economies.

The seminar will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Registration is required, and costs $85 per ticket, which includes the seminar, proceeding booklet, lunch and a one-year subscription to the Montana Business Quarterly.

For more information or to register, go to www.bber.umt.edu or call 243-5113.
