The Lady Trojans of Troy gave Stillwater Christian all they could handle Tuesday on the Cougars’ home court, but fell by a final score of 56-58.
Stillwater got out of the gate first and led 10-0 before Troy responded.
The answer for the Trojans came by way of a couple big threes from Taylor Brown and another one from her sister, Allie Brown, which cut the Cougars lead in half by the end of the first quarter. Allie Brown connected on a pair of three-pointers in the second quarter and dialed deep one more time in the fourth to keep Troy close.
Troy trailed the Cougars by seven, 29-36, as the teams headed to the locker rooms at the half.
Aurora Becquart’s nine-point fourth quarter almost was enough to earn the victory for the Lady Trojans. Troy held the Cougars to eight points in the final period.
Becquart’s team-high 20 points led the Trojans, who also got contributions of 14 points from Allie Coldwell and Allie Brown.
The Lady Trojans welcome Bigfork to their home court on Friday at 3 p.m.
