POST FALLS - Alius De La Rosa (138 pounds) and Seth McLeod at (182) earned pins for the Post Falls Trojans in a 52-15 dual meet victory over the Coeur d'Alene Vikings at The Arena on Thursday.
"I'm really proud of our 195-pounder (Brad Noesen)," Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. "He lost in overtime, but he really showed a ton of heart and he's really worked on getting better. It's really an indicator of how his hard work is starting to pay off. Our kids wrestled solid. It wasn't our best outing, I think we didn't always leave everything out there. But we'll use this as motivation to sharpen it up at the end of the year."
Close matches featured Justin Farnsworth of Post Falls beating Jake Lunceford at 285, 2-1, and Tanner Johnson of Post Falls beating Brayden Minas, 1-0, at 152.
"The score was not indicative of how close the matches were," Coeur d'Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. "There were a lot of one- and two-point matches. We lost a lot of close matches. We challenged our guys to wrestle and compete hard. They had to earn everything they got. They're just too strong in dual meets, they're one of the best teams in the Northwest. We've just got to keep plugging, get ready for districts."
Five Post Falls wrestlers - Drake Foster at 126, TJ Wolf at 132, De La Rosa at 138, McLeod at 182, and Farnsworth at heavyweight - will compete Saturday in the Idaho Wrestling Hall of Fame All-Star dual at Centennial High in Boise.
Next Wednesday, Post Falls visits Lake City, and Coeur d'Alene hosts Lewiston.

LEWISTON - The visiting Timberwolves won seven matches, but the Bengals won eight to win the dual on criteria after the teams tied at Booth Hall.
"It was a really good dual meet," Lake City coach Corey Owen said. "We had our chances and couldn't get the job done tonight. At 126 (pounds), we had a guy on his back, then he reverses our guy onto his back. We were up by a point at 138 (pounds), and a guy gets a late takedown for the win. If we win either match, we win the dual meet."
Ron Schmidt (220 pounds), Zion Dixon (285), Dylan Woodworth (113), Cory Fachar (170) and Corey Cook (182) had pins for Lake City, which hosts Post Falls on Wednesday.
