State track rules clinic

set for Wednesday

The state high school track rules clinic is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Post Falls High cafeteria.

All coaches are urged to attend.

NIC, CSI basketball renew

in-state rivalry today

The North Idaho College men's and women's basketball teams return to Scenic West Athletic Conference play today, facing the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.

In earlier men's games this season, CSI (25-0, 10-0 SWAC) - coached by former NIC coach Jared Phay - has beaten NIC 78-64 on Dec. 13 in Twin Falls and 80-72 on Jan. 17 in Coeur d'Alene. CSI is ranked third in this week's NJCAA poll, and received one first-place vote.

CSI is led by Fredrick Edmond - who has verbaled to Boise State - with 19.7 points per game, second in the conference.

NIC (17-9, 4-6 SWAC) and CSI (15-10, 6-4) have split in conference matchups thus far, with CSI winning 87-77 on Dec. 13 in Twin Falls before NIC romped to a 90-59 win on Jan. 17 in Coeur d'Alene.

NIC sophomore Kara Staggs leads the conference in scoring with 16.1 points per game. Holly Blades of CSI is seventh with 12.5 per game.
