PRIEST RIVER — A Washington state man was arrested Saturday for allegedly throwing a urine-soaked garment into the face of a Bonner County EMS technician.

Cody Ryan Rose was originally charged with battery at the felony level, although the offense was later downgraded to a misdemeanor, court records show. He made an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court on Monday.

Judge Debra Heise entered a not-guilty plea on Rose’s behalf, appointed a public defender to represent him and released him on his own recognizance, court records indicate.

Bonner EMS personnel were summoned to Mac’s Gas & Grocery after receiving a report that there was a subject in distress and possibly suffering from hypothermia, according to a Priest River Police report.
