Senior warns of Social Security fraud

SAGLE — Willie Chapman of Sagle is urging fellow Social Security recipients to play close attention to the mail they receive from the Social Security Administration.

Chapman was nearly defrauded of her benefits earlier this year when she received a notice in the mail indicating that she used the administration’s online services to direct her payments to another financial institution.

Trouble was, Chapman doesn’t use the agency’s online services.

“I’ve never used online in my whole life,” she said.
