Leaders of Ex-Cell Property Management have stepped forward to support the tenants who lost their rental home in Wednesday's house fire in Hayden.

Ex-Cell manager Connie Loftis said there are six children and three adults in that family, all in dire need of clothing and other necessary items that were destroyed in the fire.

"They need clothing, they need any household essentials," Loftis said Thursday afternoon. "They lost both their vehicles, their dog didn't make it - they have nothing, absolutely nothing. There is nothing even salvageable."

The family has five girls - ages 5, 14, 17 and two 11-year-olds - and a 9-year-old boy as well as two adult men and one woman. Loftis said she, Ex-Cell owner Deanna Hughes and leasing agent Kelsea Ingram want to help the family, which has rented from them for four years.

"They are a wonderful family and they just try so hard to be the best family they can be," Loftis said. "This is really unfortunate this happened to them."

The fire, which began around 10 a.m. Wednesday, destroyed the home where the family was living. Ex-Cell will be accepting donations at its main office, 1914 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, or people can call 676-0900.

Local fire organizations host various fundraisers to help support victims and their families in the community through benevolent funds. Northern Lakes Fire Protection District firefighters contributed some assistance to the family through their benevolent fund, but others who want to donate directly to the family can also contribute to the Northern Lakes Firefighters Local 4045 Benevolent Fund by calling 772-5711.

The family members' names have not yet been released and the fire is still under investigation.
