With just one game remaining before the divisional tournament in Whitefish, the Libby Loggers’ woes continued Saturday evening as they fell to the Pirates of Polson, 62-17.

The Loggers put up their worst offensive performance of the season, scoring just 17 points, hitting just five-for-30 for 16 percent shooting from the field. Polson made 25 out of 51 shots for 49 percent from the field.

Libby had 22 turnovers in the game, compared to 12 by the Pirates. Those turnovers created 7 Libby points and 21 for the Pirates. Polson also dominated the boards, pulling down 28 rebounds to Libby’s 12. Offensively, Polson had 10 rebounds to Libby’s three, which resulted in 20 second-chance points for Polson and two for the visiting Loggers.

Libby head coach Josh Bean declined to comment on the game.

The Pirates sport a 1-6 conference record and are 6-10 overall.

The Loggers, 2-14 overall for the season, 1-6 in conference play, host Columbia Falls on Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m. In their last meeting on Jan. 3, the Wildcats handed the Loggers a 71-24 loss.
