Lady Hawks go to playoffs

THOMPSON FALLS – It was Senior Night for the Thompson Falls Lady Hawks last Saturday as the team prepared to close out their regular season campaign against the Noxon Lady Red Devils.
Before the start of competition seniors Madison Fitchett, Logan Beckman, Kaitlyn Havens and Sam Johnson were honored by fans at Thomspon Falls High School.
Following the senior night festivities and the boy’s basketball game, the Class B Lady Hawks and the Class C Lady Red Devils got underway.
The Lady Hawks jumped out to an early lead in the first half against Noxon.
The home team would never relinquish the lead and Thompson Falls cruised to a 57-37 senior night victory.
Thompson Falls quickly gained a 16-5 advantage after one quarter of play and heading into halftime the hosts led Noxon 35-17.
Despite trailing at the half, the Lady Red Devils showed no quit and continued to work their offense during the second half.
Both team’s totaled 12 points of offense in the third quarter and the game’s final frame was nearly as close with Noxon scoring eight points and Thompson Falls scoring ten.
Bluehawks freshman guard Lindsay Laws led the team in scoring, ending the game with ten points.
Sophomore Autrey Hannum was also a factor on offense for the Lady Hawks, totaling nine points in the regular season finale.
The Lady Red Devils received a spark on offense from junior Kristin Webley who finished with 13 points.
Senior Red Devil Mckenna Krueger was also a big part of the team’s offense, ending the game with ten points.
