According to a news release from Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry, Brandon Newberry was arrested and charged with deliberate homicide. He is currently being held in the county jail with an additional charge of criminal contempt.
The infant boy reportedly died of complications from blunt force trauma. His injuries were consistent with child abuse, Curry said. Newberry is the boyfriend of the child’s mother.
Detectives from the Flathead Count Sheriff’s Office are investigating the child’s death.
