Glacier and Whitefish high school DECA chapters had an impressive showing at the Montana Career Development Conference in Great Falls.

Whitefish had 21 qualifiers and Glacier 29 for the International Career Development Conference held April 23-29 in Orlando, Florida.

There were 47 competitors from Whitefish and 69 from Glacier at the state competition. They were two of the three largest contingents at the state conference. Glacier DECA adviser Josh Munro said Glacier received recognition for increasing its chapter membership from 60 last year to 90 this year.

Whitefish DECA adviser Jeremy Anderson estimated there were more than 500 students vying for the top three spots.

DECA is an international nonprofit organization for high school and college students interested in marketing, finance, business management administration, and hospitality and tourism management careers.
