ROYAL CITY - The girls of the Royal High Dance Team are making a name for themselves. Their latest achievement came against big schools in Moses Lake on Valentines Day.

It was the fourth annual Edge of Glory competition at Moses Lake High School. The Royal girls finished runner-up in Military Dance, but team member and publicist Robin Grant viewed it as a significant second place.

"Even though we are a 1A school, we competed against bigger schools (4A), and still placed second," she said. "First place went to Lewis and Clark, which is a 4A school."

The Dancing Knights have brought home two first place trophies and one second place trophy this year, after only three competitions.

The girls are pointing toward Dance Districts, which will be held on Saturday, March 7 in Pasco. The goal there will be to qualify for the state competition in Yakima on March 27.
