Lincoln County authorities have arrested and charged a Libby man for allegedly bringing a knife onto a school bus last week.
Duane Richard Tholen, 57, was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, for an incident that reportedly took place on Friday.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Tholen flagged down the bus on Terrace View Road seven miles south of Libby.
The driver stopped and opened the door and Tholen stepped on board.
Tholen allegedly brandished a knife and yelled at the driver for going too fast. The driver told deputies that she eventually got Tholen off of the bus with the help of an adult aide. There were five students on the bus at the time.
Deputies found and interviewed Tholen about an hour later at his home. He was arrested and taken to the Lincoln County jail.
