POST FALLS - The 19th annual Wine, Stein and Dine fundraiser for Post Falls classroom projects will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Greyhound Park and Event Center.
The event benefits the nonprofit Post Falls Education Foundation, which provides teaching grants for innovative classroom education for all grades in the Post Falls School District.
Tickets are $45 per person in advance or $60 at the door. Tickets are on sale at Columbia Bank, which is the event's major corporate sponsor, as well as the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, Trading Co. store, Super 1 Foods, Enoteca Fine Wine and Beer and the school district administration office.
Attendees must be at least 21 to attend.
Offered during the evening are fine wines, microbrews, hard ciders and food from more than 85 area wineries, microbreweries and restaurants. The food, cider and microbrews will be judged by professionals and a number of awards are given in each category.
"We have 15 area restaurants represented that will serve hot and cold appetizers and desserts," a press release from the foundation states.
There will also be a silent auction, wine tree raffle, live entertainment and a complimentary wine glass or beer stein for everyone. Your event ticket allows you to sample all food and beverages during the evening.
Any educator in the district can apply for a foundation grant that provides a creative approach and enriches the educational experience for their students. Examples of what the money is spent on include equipment, books, visual and audio tools, updated technology and general curriculum enhancements.
In the past 18 years, the foundation has awarded more than $465,000 to educators for projects.
